Remembering our dear Carolyn.

Carolyn Boyd

27 February 1943 – 14 February 2015

A Life of Love Lived in His Service

Carolyn worked as a Primary teacher and a volunteer leader in CityLife Church, Melbourne. She moved into a staff position with CityLife Church in 1982 ministering in administration, teaching and missions before taking up the role of Coordinator of Children’s ministries. In 1992 she commenced as an itinerant minister working closely with Sue Carpenter and Carpenter Cross Ministries (CCM) in the children’s ministry and training programs. With a desire to communicate the importance of children in the church and community, and training children’s workers, she launched the National Ministry to Children Seminar (MTC) in 1990, which continues today. Carolyn is the founding director of Southern Cross Kids’ Camps (SCKC), which brings a message of hope to children who have experienced abuse and neglect.

Carolyn was a woman of vision, faith, creativity, wisdom, a communicator and teacher, compassionate, generous hearted, insightful, an encourager. She inspired and gathered people. She could be quite a determined woman. She could play the ukelele, solve cryptic crosswords, draw with her left hand and write with her right, loved to cook and garden, and appreciated art. The spectrum of her writing encompassed flowing poetry and plays to detailed manuals and curriculum. She could share effectively God’s heart from His Word. Carolyn always had a sense of fun, was very humorous and quick witted, ever ready for adventure. She was kind hearted, thoughtful and loyal. She had the ability to connect with all age groups across many cultures. She gave all of herself
