Dehradun, Nijaat, Imphal, and Ukhrul, India

Dehradun is a town surrounded by the foothills of the Himalayas. Here women from several churches gathered for the “Unshakable Kingdom” conference. Hungry women – many hurting,  and from  terrible domestic situations came to find answers.  Our topics “Unshakable Foundations”, “Unshakeable Joy”, “Unshakable Purpose” and “Unshakable Love” saw many women open their hearts to allow God to move.  In Sue’s session on joy, as she shared on the time God spoke to her and told her to “laugh over her bank balance” the interpreter was overcome with laughter to the point of sliding down to the floor.  God’s presence was so tangible – the entire group laughed uncontrollably.  It truly was a dose of God’s best medicine.

Grace is one amazing lady and one of ministry partners who ministers through the outreach Haven of Hope. She comes from the village of Tallui and now lives in Dehradun, caring for 12 girls aged 7-19, all of whom have been saved from abuse, neglect and abandonment.  Her love and commitment to see these girls raised to serve God and to be able to stand tall in their society is exceptional.  Grace ministered with us throughout Manipur and is a “force of nature” much respected in that community. She lives entirely by faith –  a group of donors take care of the house rent, but all food and other finance is prayed in by the girls.

During our time in India, we were asked to go and minister to a group of 22 very broken men, all in rehab for severed alcohol and/or drug addictions located in Nijaat.  Most had lost everything – families, finances and self-respect.  That afternoon five men stood to receive Christ.

We thank CityLife Manningham for the fund-raising and donations that helped us to get to India, and to the Lord who kept us in health for three weeks.
